I said the same thing.
Turns out, we saw a bunch of cars at this event with the exact same configuration. The main thing you want is the diagonal going from the corner of the top of the main hoop over the driver to the corner of the bottom of the main hoop. The harness bar can be connected or not. I've seen the harness bar be curved for the driver and straight for the passenger too.
All the rules focus on the diagonal bar being straight and one piece. That's the primary requirement.
