It's the closest thing we in north America have to a tarmac rally. Consider it our version of the long gone infamous Targa Fiorio in Italy. It has been running now for a few years and growing in popularity more and more every year. Newfoundland is a province in Canada, way up almost in Greenland! Supposed to be incredibly beautiful countryside, coastline (and yes, Targa cars have ended up in the ocean!), quaint little villages that racers compete right in the middle of.

DOH!
Two local club racers, Nick Papayianis and Will Atkinson, entered an E30 M3 (red one, above) and were up to 2nd overall in their first rally... then they crashed into a house on Day 3! This is their blog: http://odysseyms.blogspot.com/
