Lots of transitions. Looks like they tried to slow us down over the drainage depression (dead square in the middle of the site). Hopeful...

I told you you could drive my 4wd Jeep NOT my awd Subaru right?

Ha!! I'm sure it'd be faster than my 4WD Jeep!

Beat the car owner? Methinks not! I'm a wee bit out of practice....

I'm taking Friday off. Heading to the airport to pick up Miss Amy at 11:30 am then we're heading straight for LaGrave Field, which is 20 minutes further down the road. What time are you getting to the site, T?

Probably leave the car and trailer there, get unloaded, teched, walk the course, then head on home. Its gonna be hot so I'm sure we will not want to stay all day.

What's the plan Friday night? Anyone up for Borne?

I'll be heading up there with the Spokes crew (hitching a ride) and we'll be setting up camp sometime in the later part of the afternoon, I suspect. So y'all aren't planning on hanging out Friday night for dinner and beer?

Well, maybe... isn't there a meal Saturday night, too? Spending all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday out there can be a whip when its 105°F, Just trying to maximize the fun and minimize the heat. What's the food situation? Checking...

Re: Some Fort Worth Divisional Info.

I'm not sure we've made a few items public knowledge yet, but there are a few details I'll let out of the bag about the Texas Region Divisional.

We'll have a 30' x 40' tent with tables & chairs so people can get out of the sun & have a seat to relax, watch/listen to the event. There will be COLD water provided under the tent along with a couple of big fans to cool you off. Near the tent will be AIR-CONDITIONED - INDOOR - BATHROOMS. Yep, that's right, indoor plumbing.....believe it or not! (Maybe we could do Timing & scoring from there????)

The Discount Tire NASCAR Display & Car will be at the Ft Worth Divisional. Along with that will be the Big Blow-up advertising Discount Tire.

Several members are helping us out by sponsoring some all important adult beverages & party items.

Doug Maxcy is sponsoring the MARGARITA MACHINE & FIXINGS for Saturday's Party.

Also, Phil Adams is sponsoring 3 KEGS of BEER for the Friday & Saturday parties!!

And Ann Langley has been VERY busy getting us a number of items to dress-up the Saturday party a bit along with some raffle items.

              Thanks, Doug, Phil & Ann!!!

A big handful of other folks are working hard with all the details & items to make this a great event.

Todd Farris will be conducting a Divisional Town Hall meeting during Saturday's party. Todd will giving away some great items for entrants that have attended all 3 Divisional events. Future plans for the Divisional series will be discussed.

On Friday, registration & tech will open at 5pm at the eventsite & will be open until 9pm (9:30 if I know you're coming). Registration will be under the tent. Pizza, Softdrinks, Water & BEER will be gratis to welcome you to the Texas Region Divisional (The Hooter Girls thing just didn't work out.....this year.....unless Stuart {a.k.a. Mr. Viper} can sweet talk em out there??)

Plus, don't forget about our dinner plans for Saturday night. Riscky's BBQ of Fort Worth will be catering dinner & it will be an ALL YOU CAN EAT & waddle away from the table feast!

              The menu will include:
              Beef Brisket & Sausage,
              Potato Salad - a Vegetable -
              Relish Tray - Bread
              & Peach Cobbler for desert!

Add a little (or a lot in most cases) of those Margaritas & Beer that Doug & Phil are providing, & you've got a PARTY! Iced Tea & soft drinks are also available & included. All this is included with your entry fee. Additional meal tickets will be $10.

In addition, we'll be doing the traditional "raffle" on Saturday night.

We might be having one more fun item to top off the Saturday party if details can get worked out at the last minute.

Hmm... registration doesn't start until 5 pm Friday, so I'll be there a few hours too early. Crap - Hope they have the course set-up early? I wanted to drop off the car, tech and walk the course then head outta there before 6 or 7. Now we have to stay until at least 5-5:30...

So, what time you plan on being out there, T?

As for Saturday night, the menu looks great but I don't see the venue listed. Unless they plan on hanging out in the crappers, I don't know if LaGrave has an indoor facility to provide? Please tell me they're not going to serve us the catered dinner / raffle outside in the 100°+F heat? If so I might want to miss that free meal.

Re: Southwest Divisional #3, LaGrave Field, Aug 18-19.

Yeah, usually tech and registration and such don't open on a Friday until about 5pm since few arrive before then. I'd like to stay and hang out not so much for the food, but for the commradry and the fun. Friday nights are always a blast at a Divisional. You get to see folks you haven't seen in a long time and BS. It's the social aspect of autocrossing that makes it worthwhile standing in 105F heat all day for about 3 minutes of seat time!

I don't know anything of the facility, but I definitely plan to eat/drink there each night. Not necessarily ridiculously late or anything, but I definitely hope to socialize with everyone. Remember, this is my only autocross all year so I've got lots of catching up to do!

If it ends up being a problem, Tom and Rich said I could crash on their hotel room floor. No, it won't be as comfy as y'all's guest room, but if our schedules don't meet up then at least it's an option. Of course, given the option, I'd like for y'all to hang out a bit later in the evenings and I'll cut them short and head back with y'all since I haven't seen y'all's house all finished!
