End of 1st day Paul had 1st in STU but lost it in the afernoon and is now 2nd
FS turn out is weak 3 drivers bailed so I have a 1 second advantage on each course. Tomorrow is about red lights and sand bagging
Adam It's not so much the heat as it is the humidity
Well third place wasn't what I was hoping for in STU but it is better than a stick in the eye. Unfortunately it doesn't help me for the Finale. =/ Denver is by far the grippiest surface I have ever run on. Between the high grip concrete and the downhill start it was giving me fits trying to launch the car. I had one 1.9s 60' but more often then not I had 2.1s-2.3s 60', they were awful. I could not manage to do the ebrake and be smooth on the clutch at the same time, kept bogging almost every time. Jeremy on the other hand launched with consistent 1.8s 60’s and got second place.
The winner of STU was Mark Sipe in his very well prepared RX-8. He managed to run fast Sunday morning and take the lead and eventually the win. His co-driver, Debbie Kerswill drove in L2 and actually had a class winning time (STU) on the right side of 33.566.
Josh Sorter had a 33.696 left and a 34.323 right for a 68.019 (STX)
Mark Sipe had a 33.764 left and a 33.931 right for a 67.695
Jeremy Johnson had a 33.857 left and a 33.995 right for a 67.852
Paul Magyar had a 33.953 left and a 34.190 right for a 68.143
Debbie Kerswill had a 34.672 left and a 33.566 right for a 68.238

I always do "clicks" on the e-brake. I can't hold the e-brake and launch correctly. Once you pull away, you let off the brake then grab second. A couple of clicks of the ebrake won't affect 300 lb-ft of awd torque. Fridays I do practice starts to check how many clicks of the ebrake I have to use on each side. Then hopefully Sat/Sun I've created a repeatable process that I don't have to think about, I just do it each time I come to the line.
"In the challenge-within-a-challenge portion of the weekend, Erik Strelnieks was the top Honda finisher in the Super Challenge, thus earning the Honda Challenge trophy, and Jeremy Johnson earned the similar honor in the Subaru Challenge. Danielle Engstrom added her second Ladies Challenge win of 2006 to accompany her Peru, Ind. victory. Tyler Faucet took the Bonus Challenge, and Lawrence Edwards earned a free ProSolo entry for being the top finishing rookie."
Congrats Jeremy on your Subaru Challange win! (he was the only one since Josh Sorter broke his tranny)

I think this is the method I need to adopt. I also need to learn how to launch the car better period.

Tape the crap out of the button on your e-brake so it is pushed all the way in. Hold it up and then just let go. Worked great on the 325 when the pro-solo start was on a hill (or so he and a$$man said).
