      Who is arriving when?????

I am thinking on going early and am probably going to save spots for some folks. Since there will be a LOT of TAMSCCers do we all want to paddock together?

      Chad/Gary R. FS
      John/Butters SM

      Terry F./Mateucci STU
      Pranav STS

That is 20 of us (!!) and 12 cars....not bad.

I'll probably be down there a little earlier than that. Gotta scrub in some tyres

Save me a spot, I won't be there until between 5-6 (depending on Houston traffic).

Cool, we (Wendi and I) plan on being there 11ish also and we can get near the Hollis Hilton and setup camp. Not sure if I am going to practice, but we'll see.

I'll be bringing the trailer and the canopy is good sized (15'x28') for avoiding the blazing sun.

As long as it's not going to involve swallowing any ballons full of smack, we can bring it back. Sheesh, delivering down and back.

                            Re: Houston National Tour

I have been getting ready for this Houston Tour road trip on Friday morning.
                            • New truck windshield - check
                            • New windshield wipers - check
                            • Washed the coat of pollen off the LS1 car - check
                            • washed the truck - check
                            • Washed the RX8 - check
                            • Fueled the truck - check (ouch!)
                            • $75 worth of crap from the parts store (mostly car cleaning supplies, heh) - check
                            • Borrowed trailer - tomorrow
                            • M3 with loaded trailer - ready to pick up
                            • Driver for M3, one-way down to Houston.... (*crickets*)

Looks like we'll have a large crew going down there: Amy, me, McCall's, Cody, Paul and some other person from the board (who?). The plan is to meet at McCall's house on Friday morning at "5 am"...

Guess what - that's The Paul Plan. More likely 6 am is when we'll be meeting and getting ready. Most of us are not so dead set on leaving at 5, and now that Matteucci won't be there (had to back out and go to West Texas) so if we don't leave until 7 am, I won't shed a tear. Paul can just smoke cigarettes in the driveway while he waits for the rest of us to arrive at a reasonable hour.

If it's anything like Walnut Ridge we'll be sitting around for 3 hours in a rainstorm while they fix the timers... sheesh, that sucked! I'm gonna have a DVD equipped laptop/120V power inverter/laptop-to-cassette-to-stereo audio interface for the round trip. Safety is my middle name!

                              Re: Houston National Tour

Hand held radios - several people wanted to go to Fry's to get some of these tonight, but everyone flaked.

Tomorrow I am going to Fry's at lunch and buying two radios for myself and Amy. We have a pair now but the range is less than 2 miles, and sometimes that's not enough. They sell ones with 10-15 mile range now for not too much more than the cheap $20/pair jobbers.

I'm tired of buying junk radios that use a AA battery and die within 1 day of use. We may spring for some decent ones with real batteries, chargers, etc. This way we can keep them on us during these big events and talk more easily. Like if Amy is working at the gate and I'm on course, sometimes it's hard to communicate at these bigger sites and phones don't always work out in the sticks (read: the @ss-end of Arkansas).

Tomorrow I'll post what model and brand radios we get, where and how much, and if any of you slackers wants to go and get the same type radio (so we can easily talk on the same channel or whatever) I'll post it here.

Well, looks like I won't be leaving at 5am after all. More like 2am. =/ The cone clinic thing I payed for starts at 8:30am.
