BMW used the same strut top mount for their 1M and M3 whether it had a strut tower brace or not. To make up for the extra thickness of the strut tower brace and get enough engagement between the studs and nuts, they used a special extended top nut.
These special nuts are M8 thread, which works with most of our camber plates.
To use these you will likely have to open up the holes on the end of the brace so the neck below the nut will fit. That neck will reach down inside the strut tower brace to grab more threads.
