Over 5 seconds!?!? I thought the V8 would have fixed the gutless low end. If it's not faster than that off the line there will be a whole new generation of M3 drivers seeing Camaro and Mustang taillights (at least for the first 1/8th)

The new M3 will still have a FAT @SS, so over 5 seconds makes sense. 3900+ pounds!

Its about time Ford does something about their V-6's.. Nissan has been leading the way IMO. Now maybe ford can bring a sporty sedan (ie contour svt) back with a good engine!

I wouldn't rely on that info too much. There's all kinds of speculation. Seeing how the 0-60 of the 300hp 335i coupe is listed by BMW as 5.3 seconds (always a conservative number), I don't see how a car reputed to have ~415hp could be the same even if it was a bit heavier. Also, 0-100kmh is usually .1 to .2 slower than 0-60mph. The current M3 does 0-60 in 4.8 seconds. I'm not seeing how they would release a new M3 that accelerates slower than the previous model.
