Ok, I'm no longer upset that I couldn't wait for the 2007. Not a drastic enough change to wait for. Besides, I LOVE MY CAR!
Toth
The steering wheel-mounted controls are way better than those that were on the '05 I test drove a while back. The ones on the '05 were exactly like those in their Nissan counterparts.... Jason, I hope yours came with the new style controls. Even if it didn't, it is a very nice ride (I loved the feel of the 6-speed).

Ouch! $41K for the non-M model? The M is gonna cost what... $55K?
So, 3100-3200-ish pounds, 255/265 hp, $41K (base). Did ou ever figure out what wheels (diameters and widths) the base coupe would have? Or the M?
This car really needs to be $30-35K. The Dollar needs to wake up and grow, baby! Down with the Euro!

Well, the Z4 Coupe is exactly $2K cheaper than it's soft-top sibling. The Z4 M Roadster is $51,995, so I'd expect the Z4 M Coupe to be cheaper than that. The Z4 sport package has 18x8 225/40-18 F and 18x8.5 255/35-18 R, so I'd expect the coupe to offer the same. The Z4 M Roadster offers 18x8 225/45-18 F and 18x9 255/40-18 R and I'd expect the coupe to be identical.
Update Z4 M Coupe pricing is set at $49,995. When you think about the fact that it's going against the $59K Porsche Cayman S that has 295hp, it's not bad.

Hmm... $50K for the Z4 M Coupe??? Hard to believe, but I hope you're right. That's not bad, and a great deal compared tot he Cayman S, but I'm thinking for Solo2... what class will these be in??? My GUESSES:
Z4 Coupe: $41K, 3100 pounds, 265 hp, 8"F/8.5"R wheels, A Stock- not a great buy, but not a terrible one. Kind of unique in it's size, handling, power/weight ratio. Closer to a S2000 than anything else (2800lbs/240hp). That's why I'm thinking AStock
What if the Z4 Coupe went to BStock? I mean, the 350Z is in BS with 300hp and is 3200 pounds with 8" wide wheels... that would be a death blow to the RX8.
Z4 M Coupe: $50K, 3200 pounds, 330hp, 8"F/9"R wheels, Super Stock- If the Z4 Coupe goes to AS, the M version would have to go to SS. Then I think it's gonna be too heavy for the tight course (advantage: Lotus) and too narrow wheels/not enough power for the big ones (advantage: C5 or C6 Z06).
In A stock the Z4 Coupe might have a shot against the C4 Corvette and S2000. In Super Stock I think the Z4 M Coupe is out gunned. Dollar for dollar, if those prices are right, the Z4 M Coupe is a better bang/buck buy... but the Z4 Coupe would be more competitive auto-x car. Again, that's assuming those numbers are right and the classing guesses are spot on. If the M version goes to AStock I'm so gonna buy one. Hell, I'd think about the base Z4 Coupe for AS if the M goes to SS...
All of the prices seem OK when you compare them to other high end Japanese and European sports cars. But gawd, don't compare prices with Corvettes... base coupes, Z06s, and either new or old (C4, C5, C6, and Z06 varients).
