We stepped up and bought SolidWorks so we could do some 3D modeling and make custom shock designs easier. AST uses SolidWorks as well and now we can take measurements here and give them a file and vice versa. I took some old models (thanks Teucci) and put them into SW.

That's an E36 camber plate bearing holder... so nice.

This SolidWorks package is incredible. We can develop parts so much easier and faster now that we have 3D (again). No more fumbling around in 2D CAD, blech! Of course we've both had to build new PCs to even load this mammoth software, and it cost a small fortune, but its worth it.

And there are many online machine shops that will do (relatively speaking) inexpensive rapid prototyping for you with solidworks files.
