In this post we detail the upgrade to 12&#8243; wide wheels up front, measuring\/testing\/cutting the fenders to clear the now wider track width, then show the 13.8&#8243; rear disc brake upgrade. These 2&#8243; larger rear disc brakes now more evenly match the 14&#8243; front Brembo brakes this car came with and should lead to lower brake temps, longer service intervals, and hopefully more stopping power.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/vorshlag.smugmug.com\/Projects\/Vorshlag-2011-Mustang-GT-build\/i-TFnDNL7\/1\/M\/_DSF3637-M.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After learning what it took (and what it didn&#8217;t) to do this 13.8&#8243; diameter rear brake install Vorshlag saw a potential for a &#8220;Mustang rear brake upgrade&#8221; offering. Now we have a customizable kit (located <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vorshlag.com\/product_info.php?cPath=141_142_280&amp;products_id=606\" class=\"broken_link\">here<\/a><\/strong>) that goes along with the other, highly customizable Brembo 4-piston 14&#8243; <em>front <\/em>brake upgrade kit for 2005-2014 Mustangs that came with the smaller brakes (12&#8243; or 13.2&#8243; twin piston), located <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vorshlag.com\/product_info.php?cPath=141_142_280&amp;products_id=598\" class=\"broken_link\">here<\/a><\/strong>. We have also begun to stock and sell replacement brake rotors, Carbotech brake pads, Vorshlag brake lines, and our brake cooling kits are coming soon for several models.
